MOENCHENGLADBACH, Germany (AP) – Borussia M\u00f6nchengladbach on Friday blamed video referees for making two key decisions in their home game against second-placed Bundesliga team Leipzig.<\/p>\n

Despite a forgettable, slushy first half with no shots on target for either side, Gladbach continued to push forward right after half-time.<\/p>\n

Frank Onorato scored a goal two minutes into the second half, but the home fans’ celebrations were cut short as the goal was ruled out by VAR for a slight offside.<\/p>\n

The home crowd was furious again 20 minutes later when the penalty was overturned after the referee pointed to the spot when Willi Orb\u00e1n tackled Osamu Machino.<\/p>\n

Leipzig’s best chance came with 10 minutes remaining, but David Raum hit the bar as he cleared onto goal.<\/p>\n

As a result, Gladbach’s winning streak ended at three, leaving them in 11th place.<\/p>\n

Leipzig remain in second place, closing the gap on Bayern to five points, but the reigning champions have a game in hand at bottom St. Pauli on Saturday.<\/p>\n

This is the seventh consecutive time Gladbach have failed to win a Friday night game.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
