“With this protection in place, no one will be able to diminish their status as owners or change the balance that guarantees Real Madrid’s independence and stability,” Perez said. \u201cIt is up to our members today to uphold our culture of values \u200b\u200band ensure that our club continues to lead world football for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n
He denied that the reform would “cost members money, or that we are doing it because we need money.”<\/p>\n
“Everyone knows we are the richest club in the world and all we want is to remain that way and keep our traditions. That is complete nonsense,” he said.<\/p>\n
Perez said the reason for the reforms was “to protect the club from external and internal attacks on its assets and to highlight its values \u200b\u200bso that we all recognize the treasures we have in our hands as members.”<\/p>\n
