Bev Yanez, who led Racing Louisville to its first-ever playoff appearance, won the Coach of the Year award. The 37-year-old is the first former NWSL player to win the award.<\/p>\n
“I’m very grateful to the team for believing in me and trusting me. I couldn’t be here without them,” Yanez said.<\/p>\n
Sam Hiatt of the Portland Thorns received the Lauren Holiday Impact Award for his work with Candlelighters Oregon, which will receive a $50,000 donation from Nationwide to support children with cancer and their families. <\/p>\n
