WSpain’s 4-0 win over Georgia on November 15 brought coach Luis de la Fuente’s team one step closer to qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

However, before the tournament, they must compete in the Finalissima, which will take place between the winners of the Euros and the winners of the Copa Amrica. Ramin Yamal spoke about this.

Yamal wants to play against Messi

Spain’s place in the World Cup is almost guaranteed as they need to lose 7-0 to Turkey on the final day of Group E. This will allow Spain to avoid the play-offs and be free to face reigning world champions and Copa Amrica champions Argentina in the Finalisima.

Matches between the two teams will be played on March 27th and 28th at Lusail Stadium in Doha, Qatar. No one wants to miss this match, not even young Spanish star Lamine.

According to Diario AS, “Lamine Yamal wants to play against Lionel Messi in the Finalissima,” and has already raised the issue with Barcelona.

According to reports, the 18-year-old has informed team president Joan Laporta of his desire to participate in the tournament, and it is hoped that the relationship between the club and the federation will be “restored” so that his wish can be fulfilled in a timely manner.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation issued a statement expressing outrage that Barcelona could have announced Lamine’s absence sooner for the matches against Georgia and Turkey, while Barcelona claim players such as Marc Bernal and Lamine, who suffered a groin injury, were called up after playing just 21 minutes.

As a result, the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation took steps to set up talks with Barcelona to defuse the situation.

He missed four La Liga games and one Champions League game due to a pubic bone injury sustained during the FIFA International break.
