Manchester United are happy with the transfer decision taken at the start of this season and plan to double down by extending his loan deal until the end of the season.<\/h2>\n

Harry Amas will remain at Sheffield Wednesday after the January transfer window. The Manchester United left-back joined the Championship side on loan in September and is expected to extend his temporary stay.<\/p>\n
Amass, 18, scored his first senior goal against Southampton at the weekend, but has enjoyed a successful loan spell at Yorkshire despite the Owls going into administration. The teenager has not missed a single Championship game since arriving at Hillsborough, playing 90 minutes in the last 10 games.<\/p>\n
The England Under-19s have hit the ground running in their first period of senior football. United signed Amath in August 2023 after the defender spent early years at Watford.<\/p>\n
The BBC first reported that the Red Devils were happy with Amas’ loan experience so far, following which the club decided to extend his stay with the Championship side. Wednesday believes Amas has made great progress in his first few months at the club.<\/p>\n
Manager Henrik Pedersen on Wednesday spoke glowingly of Amas’ contribution. Championship bosses believe the loanee has proven he can compete with the best players in the division.<\/p>\n

“The young man who came to Sheffield on Wednesday and the young man who just left the stadium today are two different people,” Pedersen told the Sheffield Star about Amath.<\/p>\n
“And they’re two different players. His progress has been amazing and for a young player like Harry, he’s come in with a lot of energy, but then the championship always gets knocked out three games in a row.”<\/p>\n
“It’s tough but he keeps playing. This week against West Brom, Norwich and Southampton he played against three good teams and showed he can compete with them.”<\/p>\n

“He can not only compete, but he can be dominant in some situations. So I think he’s grown a lot as a player and what I see is a young man who’s starting to have a lot of knowledge about himself as a person, who he wants to be and who he doesn’t want to be.”<\/p>\n
“He’s starting to take control when he’s feeling down to be more consistent. We have a young player who is starting to get stronger physically. He’s starting to run more, sprint more, accelerate more, take small breaks during games. He’s starting to get better between games.”<\/p>\n
“I like him. He’s a good kid, a good player, he loves to learn. We want him here.”<\/p>\n
