Chelsea defeated rivals Tottenham on Saturday night to get back on track to winning the Premier League, with one of the Blues’ star players in particular catching the eye of Enzo Maresca.<\/h2>\n

Enzo Maresca has insisted that rising star Moises Caicedo is one of the best midfielders in the world after his recent starring performance. The Ecuadorian midfielder was at the heart of Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham in North London on Saturday.<\/p>\n
It was just the latest in a string of brilliant performances from the former Brighton player, who now appears to have finally recouped his \u00a3115m transfer fee. Coach Maresca is clearly a big fan, suggesting that no one can match Caicedo’s talent.<\/p>\n
After the win against Spurs, the Italian manager said: “Moi, I think he’s showing what he’s good at. He’s at the top. I’ve said it many times, but the best thing about Moi is, yes, we judge him on the pitch, but he’s very humble, he’s a very good guy and he’s always there to help everyone.”<\/p>\n
“And I told the TV interviewer that me, him and Rodri[of Manchester City]are two of the best defensive midfielders in the world at the moment.”<\/p>\n
Maresca wasn’t the only one to praise Caicedo after his recent standout performance. Jamie Redknapp also gave him full praise, claiming the midfielder is in a league of his own now.<\/p>\n

He told Sky Sports: “(He’s) world class. I would say he’s the best of his type in world football at the moment. It’s just phenomenal. The way he covers the ground, the desire, the quality of the ball, putting out fires in the team, finding the cause of the loss, the strength of the ball, always making the right pass.”<\/p>\n
“I thought he was great today and he’s a dream. When you’re playing as a defender and you have a player like that in front of you and adds that much quality, it’s just a dream, an absolute dream.”<\/p>\n
“It took him a little while to settle in, but now I think he’s one of the best players. In recent years, this club has had some of the best defensive midfield players in Kante, Makelele.”<\/p>\n

“He’s 23 (24) years old and he’s definitely a great player in every department. That’s what you need. If you want to go anywhere and win games, you need a player like that.”<\/p>\n
Caicedo, 24, has already scored four goals in 14 games in all competitions for Chelsea this season, making it his most productive season at Stamford Bridge to date. He will aim to continue his form until Chelsea face Qarabag in the Champions League in midweek.<\/p>\n
