MUNICH (AP) – Bayern Munich announced club record financial figures and membership numbers at its annual general meeting on Sunday, where members also celebrated the team’s record 15-game winning start to the season.<\/p>\n
Bayern president Herbert Hainer said the club gained 50,000 new members last year, taking its total membership to 432,500, “more than any other club in the world”. The club’s chief executive officer, Jan-Christian Dresen, subsequently announced that the club’s revenue for the 2024-25 financial year reached a record 978.3 million euros (approximately $1.133 billion), an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous year. Dresen said Bayern’s net profit for the year was 27.1 million euros ($31.5 million).<\/p>\n
“Despite turbulent times and a transfer window that reached new heights, we once again achieved record revenues and posted a solid profit. This shows the extraordinary strength and substance of our club,” said Dresen. “We are not unstable. FC Bayern is stable.”<\/p>\n
Bayern had a relatively quiet transfer season, with Luis Diaz joining from Liverpool for \u20ac67.5 million plus bonuses, making them their biggest spender.<\/p>\n
“We don’t spend more than we make,” Driessen said. \u201cThis attitude is part of our philosophy and will continue to guide us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also on Sunday, lawmakers re-elected Mr. Heiner, 71, as president. The former Adidas CEO took over as president in 2019, replacing Uli Hoene\u00df.<\/p>\n
Bayern started the season with 15 wins in all competitions, including the German Super Cup, a record start among Europe’s top five leagues.<\/p>\n
The team will next play away to European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
