Kevin De Bruyne faces several months out after suffering a muscle strain after scoring a penalty against Inter Milan. The 34-year-old has been a steady presence in the team since joining on a free transfer in the summer.<\/p>\n

Stanislav Lobotka is also out due to injury and will be replaced by former Chelsea player Billy Gilmour.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Additionally, Conte will be without former Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa when he represents Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations later this year.<\/p>\n

Securing Mainu’s signature will undoubtedly become more attractive for Serie A leaders looking to deal with shortages in their squad.<\/p>\n

When discussing Mainu’s situation earlier this season, Amorim acknowledged the player’s desire for more game time, but suggested a move elsewhere would be rejected.<\/p>\n

“Like many players, he wants to play more. I didn’t have a conversation with him before the end of the game, but I did this week,” Amorim said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cBecause I don\u2019t want Koby Mainu to think that I was having these conversations just to keep him. I don\u2019t want him to feel like that.<\/p>\n

“I have a lot of faith in Koby, but there are some people who think Koby Mainu is already done (completed article). I think he can be better, I think he can be even better.”<\/p>\n

“I think it’s enough (talent) for some players, but not enough for him. Maybe it’s unfair, but I think it’s helping Koby Mainu. That’s it. He’ll have the same chance as any other player.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
