The Molineux manager is in turmoil after his team’s latest defeat in the Premier League, with manager Vitor Pereira getting into an altercation with a fan in the stands, followed by supporters clashing with players in the club’s car park.<\/h2>\n

“First a point, then a pint” was Vitor Pereira’s catchphrase during his early days at Molineux, when fans were getting a little tipsy. Now, if it’s a pint of something, it’s bitter.<\/p>\n
It remains to be seen whether Vitor will be asked to give final commands after the defeat to Burnley, which escalated into a brawl with supporters in the barroom. But one thing is certain: the owners of great clubs are responsible for the ugliness that covers great clubs.<\/p>\n
From the relatively hectic conditions of the Nuno Espirito Santo era, it is now a managed decline. Fosun owner and Chairman Jeff Shi will tell you that all of their recent management efforts have been focused on sustainability. But sustainability is just an excuse for a lack of ambition, an excuse for being content with simply existing in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

Wolves aren’t the only animals affected by this disease. There have been many examples over the years. But the wolf is now a scary sign for mission statements like this. Let’s find three teams that are worse.<\/p>\n
Perhaps they could translate it into Latin and put the club crest on it. I apologize for using another team’s motto, but you don’t dare dream at Molineux.<\/p>\n
Look, Pereira doesn’t get a free pass, he doesn’t get a pint. He’s off to a great start, but he’s a guy who hasn’t been anywhere for a long time now, waiting for good fortune to happen.<\/p>\n

He is allowed to lash out at punters, but the real wrath of the players, who have not won in the Premier League this season and just handed Burnley a late win, may be avoided.<\/p>\n
Let’s spare you the criticism of the team who succumbed to all three promoted teams. There’s an old story in professional football that says there’s someone who owns more clubs than Tiger Woods.<\/p>\n
Pereira has exactly the same number of clubs as Tiger. In his 21-year managerial career, Pereira has managed 14 games. That’s to some extent.<\/p>\n

It is strange that, despite a honeymoon start, Pereira was given a new three-year contract, strengthening his power base and reflecting the incompetence of the owners. However, it is likely that Pereira will be looking for and finding the number 15 job in the near future.<\/p>\n
However, the blame lies with the owners, who clearly do not want to invest more than necessary to maintain their Premier League status. Again, sadly, this is not an uncommon way of working, but there is a fundamental problem with limiting ambition for survival.<\/p>\n
That mentality permeates every corridor of the club. Optimism is dashed. The bottom line is that the Timberwolves’ best players are being sold and not being replaced with near-equivalent players.<\/p>\n

That’s a combination that will only cause trouble. And with owners spending at least a significant portion of their transfer income on new players, reinforcements must also bear some of the blame for the current mess.<\/p>\n
However, the club was rotten from the beginning, and although there were some very good times under Mr. Fosun and Mr. Shi, the rot had set in. As a result, there were scenes of the manager watching the game with supporters in the stands, and scenes of supporters watching the game with the players in the parking lot, resulting in a 27-point victory. And before Halloween, the fan base resigned itself to the relegation.<\/p>\n
Well, October isn’t even over yet and there’s probably no club official – perhaps not even Vitor “Point Sen Pint” Pereira – who believes the glass is even half full. manager? Recruiting team? Owner? chairman? Take your pick…but it’s time for a kick out at Molineux.<\/p>\n
