The Gers have had a disastrous start to the season, winning just one league game this season and are sixth in the Scottish Premiership.

The Rangers fired manager Russell Martin in early October after just 17 games in his tenure, with team leaders insisting that “results have not met expectations.” Kevin Muscat and Steven Gerrard were initially considered to replace Martin, but they were eventually withdrawn. Rohr was then handed the reins as he prepares to take charge this evening (Thursday) in his first match against Blanc in the Europa League. And Express Sport talks about his priorities at Ibrox.

Replace Ant-Man with Norwegian Moore

Oliver Antman made an excellent debut for Rangers, starring in the Europa League qualifier against Viktoria Plzen. The Finnish winger recorded two assists as his team won 3-0.

Since then, Ant-Man’s form has plummeted, with his only goal contribution in a Rangers shirt coming when he set up James Tavanier’s opener in the team’s only league win of the season against Livingston.

Mikey Moore, on loan from Tottenham, is expected to start ahead of Ant-Man’s game against Brann, and the 18-year-old has shown plenty of energy if called up this season.

Keeping Russell Martin’s promise

While Martin was in the Rangers dugout, he often talked about the need to win football games, but he couldn’t back up his words with results.

While Rohr will try to live up to his predecessor’s promises, the 36-year-old will be under pressure to stay true to his words from the start, with the 36-year-old likely to be under pressure to stay true to his words from the start, with the short term suggesting results over style will be crucial.

“The important thing is that we have to win the next game and then move on,” the former Bayern Munich manager explained in his first press conference on Tuesday.

He added: “The first step, and this is a big step, is we need to win in a row. I think this is very important, because if you win in a row you will be confident.”

change the way you think

Back in the day, Rangers players were used to winning games and would automatically start every league game as favorites unless they faced bitter rivals Celtic.

Rangers players have clearly gotten used to the feeling of drawing and losing games this term. And that needs to change soon.

“We talked about what we wanted to see, and I think it’s also important that we need to take steps in the direction[we want to go],” Rohr added.

“The demands on the club are very high, but we cannot simply think that we can win football matches with great football.”

Source link

Rangers appointed Danny Rohr as their new manager on Monday, with the German given the unenviable task of turning around the team’s fortunes as quickly as possible.
