Manchester United and Liverpool will face off on Sunday in what will be a big clash for both sides in the Premier League, with Alan Shearer taking charge of both teams ahead of the game.<\/h2>\n

Alan Shearer claims Luke Shaw will be the only Manchester United star to feature for the combined Red Devils and Liverpool side. Two fierce rivals will meet on Sunday afternoon for what will become a big match.<\/p>\n
Ruben Amorim’s side are in dire need of three points after a disastrous start to the season, but Liverpool come into this encounter having lost three games in a row. Despite this, there will still be plenty of fans to attend the match between the reigning Premier League champions at Anfield on Sunday.<\/p>\n
And Shearer seems to strongly agree with that, naming a combined eleven for both teams, with only United’s star player qualifying. Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson was named between the sticks and was joined in the side by Liverpool team-mates Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley.<\/p>\n
Red Devils defender Luke Shaw has been selected at left-back despite significant competition from Milos Kerkes and Andrew Robertson. The Englishman has started every game for United so far this season.<\/p>\n
There is a similar theme in midfield, with Liverpool dominating. Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenbirch and Dominik Szoboszlai were all selected by Mr Shearer.<\/p>\n

That means United captain Bruno Fernandes has been left out completely despite being arguably the Red Devils’ best player over the past few seasons. Shearer’s combined eleven is also exclusively Liverpool in terms of team attack.<\/p>\n
Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has of course been included in the squad despite struggling at the beginning of the season. He will be joined by Dutchman Kodi Gakpo.<\/p>\n
The final member of the team is Hugo Ekitike, who was signed in the summer after Liverpool got off to a great start at Anfield. Of course, that would mean United’s own summer additions Matheus Cunha, Brian Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesco would all be ruled out.<\/p>\n
It also means there is no place for \u00a3125m star Alexander Isak, which is perhaps not a big surprise given his loyalty to Newcastle.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the match, Shearer told Betfair: “Liverpool vs Man United is always a big match because of the size of both clubs and former players always say this is a huge game and a game to watch, which means a lot to both the fans and the players.”<\/p>\n

“There’s definitely an extra spice to this game as Liverpool lost three on a spin that no one expected and Man United are as they are, due to the circumstances and hype surrounding both clubs for various reasons. This is a game that both teams have to go for a win for various reasons.”<\/p>\n
“Holidays abroad are always tricky. As a manager and as a club you would want to sit down and work, go to the training ground and work on what went wrong, but it’s difficult when you don’t have so many international players. It’s been a difficult two weeks for Slott and Amorim.”<\/p>\n
“You don’t know who’s going to be healthy and who’s going to be back, who’s going to be back at a certain time. Are you going to be back Thursday or Friday? That’s always difficult. If Slott has a full team to choose from, especially in a volatile game like this, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes back to what worked well last season.”<\/p>\n
