Graham Potter believes taking charge of the Swedish national team would be a “great opportunity” for him. The former Chelsea, Brighton and West Ham manager has not been with the club since leaving the London Stadium last month following a disastrous start to the season. He has been shown to have an advantage over Nuno Espirito Santo and continues to seek new challenges.<\/p>\n

However, Potter has hinted that he would welcome the chance to become Sweden’s head coach, and a new opportunity could be on the horizon. The Swedish Football Federation is looking for a new manager after deciding to sack coach John Dahl Tomasson following a shocking 1-0 defeat to Kosovo in a World Cup qualifier.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Potter, who previously worked in Scandinavia for Ostersund, volunteered for the position. He said: “I’m actually in Sweden right now, at home in Sweden. I’ve just left the Premier League in between jobs.”<\/p>\n

“I’m really open to anything that I think I can help with. Being the head coach of the Swedish national team is great.”<\/p>\n

“I have feelings for Sweden. I love this country and I love Swedish football. I have a lot to appreciate about Swedish football. So, of course, it would be a great opportunity for me.”<\/p>\n

Regarding his next move, Potter added: “I have gained a lot of experience and am very grateful for my career so far.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“But I’m only 50 and I still have a lot to offer. It’s not about finding a job at a certain level, it’s about finding something where I feel I can be useful and make a difference. I also want to feel that we (the parties) are on the same line. Those are my criteria.”<\/p>\n

If Potter takes over as Sweden’s manager, he will be reunited with a number of Premier League talents, including Alexander Isak and Viktor G\u00f6keres.<\/p>\n

After his blockbuster move to Liverpool, the striker has struggled to find his rhythm this season. And Reds legend John Aldridge warned it was Isaac’s time to make a difference.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“When I was playing, they used to say it would take around a month to get match fit over the summer, but Isak will take around six to seven weeks before Manchester United arrive at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cOK, none of the games he has played for Liverpool so far have been friendlies so there was something going on, but I feel like the international break with Sweden helped him improve his fitness at club level.<\/p>\n

“Now is his time to make his mark. No more ‘excuses’ or ‘explanations’. Next up is United. There is no better time or team to show why you are one of the key players at a club of Liverpool’s size.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
