Speaking at TNT Sports’ Manager of the Month award at United’s Carrington training ground, Amorim said: “My sense is that life can change really quickly.
“The team has changed in the last four weeks.
“The second thing is, this is not my award, it’s the team’s award, because they (the players) played the game and they did a very good job.
“They’re working really hard. Of course we’ve had some bad days during this season, but we’re working hard to overcome all of the situations we had last year and we’re still doing that at this early stage of the season.
“And lastly and most importantly, it doesn’t matter because this happened last month.
“In soccer, it’s enough to win this game next month, because that means you’ve won the game.”
When asked about the reasons for last month’s strong performance, Amorim added: “I think the players believe they can win.
“A small incident in soccer can change everything about the team environment during a match.
“Winning against Sunderland and going to Anfield and scoring early on helped us a lot.
“All these little details help change the narrative around the team a little bit.
“So I think we need to give more credit to our players.”
In a further boost for the club, Mbeumo was named Premier League Player of the Month for October for his impressive display at the sharp end of the pitch.
This includes four goal contributions for the entire month, including one goal against Liverpool, two against Brighton and one assist against Sunderland.
