When Benoit Badiashile picked up an injury right at the very end of last season it felt like the gods were just kicking us while we were down. We had nothing to play for, and nothing to really hope for except the end of the campaign and a summer refresh. Instead, we got what turned out to be quite a nasty injury for the France defender in an ultimately meaningless game.
He was expected back by the end of the summer, but here we are in mid-October and he’s yet to return. Things have been set back and delayed multiple times. You’d think that was enough to frustrate him, but instead he’s remained positive.
In fact, an exclusive from Football London claims the defender is “in really high spirits” about his imminent return and is “immensely excited” to be back training with the team again.
That’s superb to hear, and it surely indicates that the mood at Cobham is really rising all round after a few wins, with the international break now in full swing and a decent number of players (including Badiashile) enjoying themselves.
Let’s hope it translates to further good results on the pitch.
