Budget issues mean Chelsea bid for former Arsenal starter is

Football Insider are today keeping up the reports of Chelsea interest in Aaron Ramsdale.

The Arsenal keeper lost his place in Mikel Arteta’s team, and it seems very likely that they cash in on him this summer.

He’s still just 25 and had some very good times with the Gunners – but clearly they don’t reckon he’s a top tier option.

We’re in an interesting spot with our goalkeepers now, regardless of what happens with Ramsdale.

Djordje Petrovic really took his chance while Robert Sanchez was out injured to establish himself as number one. Now Sanchez is back, and the battle can start again. The question is whether either candidate can convince so much that any plans to sign a new stopper are shelved for good.

Is Ramsdale really so much better than Sanchez and Petrovic that we’re ready to write off the money we spent on them after just a year? We have our doubts.
