Andrew Allen reports for Arseblog News that they’ve heard a new deal for Martin Odegaard is “basically done”, and that it will likely be announced next week or sooner.
The contract extension is likely to run to 2027, with the option to extend for a further year.
Odegaard had spoken about his contract situation earlier in the week, but he wasn’t giving anything away at the time.
“I don’t have much to say, apart from the fact that I am very happy at Arsenal and I hope I can be there for a long time,” Odegaard said.
“Beyond that, I have no comment right now. Now, it is the national team that is in focus.”

Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Odegaard is very happy with Arsenal and likely to extend his contract with the club, with the Gunners now planning to step up negotiations.
Meanwhile, Football insider Team News and Ticks wrote that talks were ongoing on contract extensions for Ben White and Odegaard, with nothing agreed yet, but negotiations heading in the right direction.
Charles Watts had told TEAMtalk earlier in the summer that White and Odegaard would be the next two players in line for contract extensions, before adding in August that talks were underway.
It seems things have moved quickly since then, and Odegaard’s situation is on the verge of a resolution.

The Gunners captain has an existing contract with Arsenal until 2025, though the club have an option to extend it to 2026. The rumoured extension would tie him down for another two years.
