Levi Colwill has been named in the UEFA technical observer panel’s “Team of the Tournament” after a magnificent showing at the U21 Euros in Georgia.
Colwill was a rock at the back for Lee Carsley’s team as they won the competition, cementing his place as perhaps the country’s best young defender.

England didn’t concede a single goal in the whole tournament, so it’s not surprising that four of the back 5 are made up of Three Lions players.
His Chelsea future may be in doubt, but his astonishing ability is not. Awards like this just reinforce how devastating it would be to lose him, either in the short term or the long term. He needs to be involved with the first team from the moment he rejoins the squad after a well earned break, and there can be no debating that.
He’s old enough, and he’s good enough. Nothing else matters.
