As reports come out about one clubs agreeing to sell a player to another today, Chelsea are set to receive a surprise hefty payday from it.
As reported by numerous outlets in the last moments, including Ben Jacobs as seen below, Newcastle have agreed a package of around £40m with Southampton for Tino Livramento.
Sources: Latest on Kudus, Olise, Broja, Madueke, and Chalobah!
Of course, the right back used to play for Chelsea before he joined The Saints, and Chelsea smartly put a nice sell-on fee in the deal.
As Jacobs reports, Chelsea have a big sell on clause based on profit made – so anything above the £4m Saints paid. Chelsea are entitled to over 40% of the total profit which will be close to £15m.

A nice little unexpected windfall that Chelsea will obviously appreciate a lot right now as they look to balance their financial books and still looking to sign new players themselves this window.
It’s also a nice move for Tino!
