The new deal will be 6 years with an optional one year extension clause for Chelsea. The negotiations were described as “turbulent” by Felix Johnston.
We can imagine just why the talks were so difficult – we’re trying to convince him to stay following two years where he’s shone every time he’s got a chance, yet hasn’t been trusted as a regular yet. Even worse, we spent huge money on Marc Cucurella last summer to block his path for potentially years to come.
We wouldn’t blame Hall for wanting to leave – so we’re just so delighted he’s decided to stay.
