The Midlands outfit are a surprise package this season and victory over the blues, coupled with Liverpool losing at Sheffield United, will see the Villans move into second place int he Premier League. City, of course, don’t want that to happen and are looking for their own three points to keep pace with Arsenal.
As always, our team are here to hopelessly predict the outcome (I can’t remember the last time someone got a perfect score) and hopefully, one of us will be right tonight.
Tough match as City will be on short rest and the no Rodri factor. To add, Haaland is a bit off the mark and it’s away. Hmm, tough to call, give me a nervy 1-0 win. Have to end the skid here.
Villa 0-1 City
City have to get back to winning ways in the league at some point. Likewise, Villa’s excellent form will have to hit a bad spell sooner or later. I think this could be the game that both of those things happen.
Aston Villa 0-2 City
A trip to Villa Park with no Rodri, no Grealish, and probably no Doku. But hey, no Simon Hooper either. The Villains haven’t lost at home since late September, but City are a bit desperate to get a result. I’ll take City on principle.
Villa 2-3 City
It’s only December so no need for panic stations yet. Let’s give Arsenal fans something to get giddy about until the New Year. This isn’t a ‘must-win’ match, but three points after three successive draws, would be very welcome. We’re generally okay at Villa Park and I think we’ll be okay on Wednesday too. Villa are always a threat and will probably score, but I think City will be well clear by the time that happens.
Villa 1-3 City
So, What Happened Last Time?
Once again, no one got a perfect score. Pete did correctly predict a draw so a point there, while Craig will have bemoaned Spurs’ late equaliser as he went for 3-2.
